P&DS to a meeting with

2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss two proposed variants
of the DIAZO printer: `
a. A "fly-away version" suitable for field deployment, to
be wholly contained in two of IAD's standard fly-away boxes. This
portable unit would consist of a processor and exposure device,
(with internal storage capability for a supply of ammonia, water, and
DIAZO material). It is to be designed to mate with the 918 light
weight table.
b. A proposal for R&D work on a DIAZO copier capable of a
minimum of 300 lines per mm resolution. This device will be similar
in concept and design to the prototype presently in operation in IAD;
however, it is anticipated that a collimated light source will'be
utilized.

3. I also discussed with our forth coming order for
5000sheets of Unitone DIAZO material, 7.1/2 mill thickness. He has agreed
to ship up to 5,000 sheets of this material as soon as it is available,
in advance of the receipt of our order.
25X1 4. I freported that his engineer would visit IAD on the 14th
of January for the purpose of retro-fitting the prototype copier with a
new type of ammonia regulating valve (including a surge tank) which should
eliminate the present problem of ammonia fumes.

LIGHT WEIGHT TABLE
MODEL GFL-918LW
The model GFL-918LW is a light weight
(30 pounds) rugged light table featuring
portability. It provides an 11 x 18 inch view-
ing stage that can be used in the horizontal
position or tilted at 30 or 45 degrees.
The reel brackets and the roller sets can
be mounted as shown or on the sides of the
table.
Components used for this table are a wide
range dimmer, encapsulated light source,
laminated safety glass top and T-2-5 reel
brackets.
When all attachments, reel brackets and
rollers, are removed from the basic table, it
occupies a volume of only 141/a x 191/2 x 51/2 -
inches.
