Model 45 Multi-motion 3t-rin 70 Light Table..
On Taesf Jv.ly2 the Light Table was cor:.plete except for
s couple of break knobs that they expected to keavg
have on W-ed. If the knobs came in they would ship
the table Wed, othewise it would be Mon after the
holiday.
This table is ruggedly built and has adequate motions,
The tilt forward motion is a little jumpp but all thy.
other motions are verp smooth and have adequate control,
All the motions have adjustable drag and brakes.
The hand wheels are not per~japs as convenient as they
might be but this is minor,
There four fluorescent lamps, 8 watts each, and four
switches to control light distribution, I would say
that this is the weakest part of the design. It is
not clear what value four distribut~io'ns of the lights
would have. This is particularly true since curtain,
are provided under the glass top to mask the light
down to the size required for viewing.
The microscope mounting fs convenient and eey easy
to use. The rods extending out the back require
considerable room however.
Altogether it will probably be a satisfactory instr-
ument. It is versatile and rugged. It is a rather
complicated solution to what should be a simple
problem, but simplicity is harder to achieve thariY
complex%ty in most cases. I would not say it is a
brilliantly executed design, but it is however
acceptable.
