SUBJECT: Contract Research in Vision and Related Areas,
1. The level of effort on this time and materials contract has
been substantially lower than anticipated at its inception. Never-
theless, significant results from the literature search have been
reported by the principal investigator. Large volumes of material on
visual perception and related areas have been filtered to yield
extremely important information for imagery interpretation research.
Future efforts under this contract also promise to be of considerable
value in guiding our Human Factors Program into some specifically
salient areas.
2. In view of the judged worth of the results obtained so far
under this comparatively inexpensive contract, it is recommended that
sufficient FY-1967 funds be appropriated for its continuation.
Neither increased nor decreased level of effort is considered
essential at this time. In the event of potential or actual over-
lap between 0 work and E_ I
the findings stated here will,, o course, be re-evaluated.
