NARRATIVE REPORT INTERIM ^ FINAL
Progress Report for August 1965 was received on 8 September 1965.
Inspection visit of 15 September 1965.
Attendees:
The general progress of the development was reviewed and the
following items were discussed in detail:
1. The spot size will be the following: 3/16 inch without the
diffuser in ilplace and 5/8 inch w film, it in. This tube is measured
at a point directly be ow the film. (through t,-.,a Vube glass and
diffuser).
2. A sketch pad holder, elbow rest, and magnetic board will
be provided with the instrument.
3. A request was made for film chipping, and will be done as
follows: the lead, x-ray glass will be removed and another piece of
lead glass will be placed between the tube face and the film, This
glass will prevent the tube face from being scratched while cutting
film and will protect the operator from the x-rays of the C.g.T.
4. A. provision will be added to allow the operator to look one
axis of the microscope carriage to facilitate precise scanning.
5? The film can now be loaded from the front of the instrment
however, the access doer will be enlarged.
6. Locks will be provided on both the microscope carriage and
the rotating light surface.
7. It was requested that the top surface of the table be made
magnetic,
8. The kinescope facing problem has been solved. is
laminating a 1/32 inch, piece of flat glass to the tube race w th
either R?V 615 or Mir 602 silicon rubber; both are water white and
seem to be satisfactory.
9. The Microscope modification was again outlined and

was told that the instrument must operate over the range of 7.OX to
