PAR 213 is a new project designation for the prototype phase of the Briefing Print Enlarger. We expect to receive the pro osal and specifications within the next two weeks from the DIA will transfer approximately o NPIC; Bureau of Weapons will transfer approximately and NRT C will transfer approximately prototype on a priority basis. 2. Procurement of Four Additional Prototype Models for the Intelligence Community Through the Medium Several agencies have requested that NPIC purchase four additional prototype models of the Briefing Print Enlarger. The three agencies concerned are the Naval Reconnaissance Technical Support Center (NRTSC), DIA, and Navy Bureau of Weapons. These agencies are most anxious to commit FY 1966 funds toward these prototype models. They have been informed of the procedure for joint procurement and development of the Briefing Print Enlarger and are now in the process of transferring their funds to the Director of NPIC who will in turn assign the funds to OSA, provided this method of handling the contract is approved. Each model will cost approximately per unit. On this basis In the meantime, has stated that t ey are working on the long-range phases of the Briefing Print Enlarger NRTSC, one model each; total of four additional models. 25 25 25 25 25 The balance of the funds in the case of Bureau of Weapons and NRTSC will come from funds already held by NPIC. The orders now stand at the following: Bureau of Weapons, two models; DIA and 3. Method of Procurement. When the Contracting Officer at OSA receives the funding data from NPIC for contracting the four prototype models, he will send a message of authorization to o commence fabrication of the four prototype models.
