Investigation has been made of various systems employed by other Agencies and
none of them satisfy NPIC requirements.

This contract is concerned with Phase 1 (Analysis) only of a four phase
program leading to the implementation of an integrated information processing
system for NPIC. During Phase 1, the present NPIC substantive data base
will be analyzed, the specific NPIC objectives which the data base is aimed
at supporting will be determined, and information systems in operation or
development at other facilities will be studied and evaluated as to their
relative merits and pertinence to NPIC problems. The culmination (Continued)

Recommend the areas in which improvements can be made through modifi-
cations of existing procedures and equipment, introduction of new
procedures and introduction of new data processing equipment.
Prepare functional and performance specifications for the overall
information handling system and a detailed program plan for system
design.
