During my recent ? trip to the the CORN FEM program was thoroughly discussed with their personnel. I was assured that the proposed two-dimensional target and three-dimension object correlation could be easily assimilated into the CORN concept. 2. In order to provide a iR better understanding of the types of areas in which we would be interested, the following list is submitted: a. Industrial Areas b. Atomic Energy G These t areas present target types which would allow for correlation of c ea`1c'ary.~ interpretation for a wide variety of objects ?ncountered in anal phmy photography. 3. In order to collect data m as required in the program, two dimensional targets should be placed adjacent to the objects that are to be measured dimensionally and photometrically. It is requested that three or four h buildings having various shapes be measured; ohmix Iy +k1's /5 obviously limited by the availability of photometric equipment. Care disteraces hefwcJ, obiet*s should be taken to choose those Atha.t would app oY_ h approach and others that would exceed the predicted ground resolution of the system used. 4. Low altitude photography should be taken to identify the targets selected. High altitude photography will be used for correlation of scale factors, determining atmospheric effects on photography and determining resolution l' pprova'Ftsdse 2001/08/07 : CIA-RDP78B04747A001600050003-7 Approved For Release 2001/08/07 : CIA-RDP78BO4747AO01600050003-7 5. Collateral data, including atmospheric conditions, date, time of exposure, geographic location, altitude, ground conditions and vehicle course should be provided. The requirements for this and Em other data are given in the "Research Objectives" dated 2 April 1964. 6. Data. reduction could be incorporated into the CORN program and reproduced as ground resolution statistics. These data will then serve to strengthen the resolution statistics given as a. part of the report for each mission. 7. It is requested that the programmed target areas with their corresponding targets be sent to NPIC for coordination with the various divisions having an interest min Ekmxxp this program.
