Approved For Release 2002/06/17: CIA-RDP78B04747A00150005F_T As a result of the recent efforts to make the Chip STATINT Comparators operationally acceptable, it became apparent that a number of product improvement changes had to be made in addition to the inter- ferometer modifications being made by at their own expense. STATINT The required changes for which the Government is obligated to pay for,are of both an overrun and increased scope nature. The recommended changes which are of an overrun nature are: 1. Fabricate new mounting mechanism for improved operation of negator springs. 2. Redesign,of the curtain assembly for improved operation. 3. Reducedwarm up time for inadvent power turn off. 4. Replacement of name plate on front panel. Update manual of operating procedures to the equipments latest configuration. 6. Update dra.wingsi as provided by the contract,to depict final configuration. The following tasks are of an increased scope nature: 1. Modification of the head rest structure for improved support. 2. Providing an access cover for ventilation and viewing of the pump assembly and water tanks. 3. Provide access cover in sheet metal covers (skin) for adjustment of X and Y interferometers. Wiring and placement of specified test points on front panel. 5. Installation of chassis guide rails for protection and easier axis to digitizer chasses.
