MOSKVA PARADE, 1 MAY 1967
This report has been prepared in response
to GMAIC standing requirement 27-6 and to
CIA requirement C-DS7-84,451, which requests
detailed analysis of the SCAMP, SCROOGE,
and SAVAGE missile transporters and the
SAVAGE missile photographed during the 1 May
1967 Moskva parade. All measurements have
been furnished by the NPIC Technical Intelli-
gence Division and are accurate
whichever is greater.
A comparison of the 3 missile transporters
and the SAVAGE missile displayed during the
1 May 1967 Moskva parade with those observed.
in the Moskva parade on 7 November 1966 re-
veals several changes in the SCAMP trans-
porter (Figures 1 and 2), which in the later
parade appears to be very similar to that used
for the SCROOGE missile (Figure 3). Changes
noted in the SCAMP transporter include the ex-
tension of the leveling jacks to the rear, reloca-
tion of the jack pads to the upper part of the
missile stand, elimination of the supporting rods
formerly attached to the erecting hydraulic
cylinders, rearrangement of the superstructure
fuel containers, and modification of the driver's
compartment so that its exterior resembles
that of the SCROOGE transporter. The fender
cables previously observed on the SCROOGE
transporter have also been added to the SCAMP
vehicle. The only differences observed in the 2
transporters are: the 2 supports extendingfor-
ward from the driver's compartment on the
SCROOGE transporter are not present on the
SCAMP vehicle; the distance between the outer
edges of the 2 tracks on the SCAMP vehicle
isyhile on the SCROOGE transporter

tween the outer track wheels of the 2 vehicles,
however, is the same.
No changes are observed in the SCROOGE
transporter (Figure 3) or in the SAVAGE
transporter and missile (Figure 4) displayed
in the May 1967 parade from those seen in the
November 1966 parade. The 2 SAVAGE mis-
sile canisters in the May 1967 parade displayed
the same serial numbers (421228 and 421614)
as those exhibited in the November 1966 parade,
and the transporters are identical. The
SCROOGE transporters and canisters exhibited
in the 2 parades are similar, with only the
canister numbers differing. Canister numbers
N096 and N102 were displayed in the Novem-
ber 1966 parade, while in the May 1967 parade
canister numbers N083 and N187 were observed.
