Convert GCT to local time as follows: Local time = GCT - a w or Local time = GCT ? A e where A w is longitude west and A e is longitude east, whichever is applicable. Longi- tude in degrees and minutes is converted to hours and minutes by dividing degrees by 15, since 15? longitude equals one hour in time. E.g. 6h 30m GCT - 82 1/2? A w = 6h 30m - 5h 30m = 1h 0m local time, or 1:00 a.m. 2. Compute time interval from local time to noon*, and use Table 1 to convert this interval to hour angle (H.A.). E.g. 9:24 a.m. local time = 2h 36 m from noon = 39 ? 1:00 a.m. local time = 11h 00m from noon = 165? 3. Using Table 2, the apparent declination of the sun for 0h ephemeris time, find the declin- *Compute this time interval, using noon of the day to which the given GCT is referenced.
