rI'his report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Porce and. logistic
installations being prepared for aDIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated. by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Croup,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Croup.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator arc omitted in the report.
'Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (L) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POI storage areas, (H) other buildings and

Minsk Ammunition Depot Kanyuchitsy (Fig-
ure 1) is located 12 kilometers (km) south-
southwest of Minsk (53-45N 027-33E). The
installation is served by the Minsk-Slutsk high-
way. Minsk Army Barracks Northwest (AL-6)
is located 14.4 km north, Minsk Army Barracks
Uruchye (AL-1) is 21.5 km northeast, and Minsk/
Machul.ishche Airfield is 4.6 kmsouth-southeast.
'hhe installation (Figures 2 and 3), com-
prised of adouble-fenced storage area and an
adjacent support area, covers approximately
220 acres. The storage area contains 17 am-
mwlition storage buildings. The support area
contains one administration building, six prob-
able barracks, and two support buildings.
Two buildings possibly associated with the
ammunition storage area are located adjacent

Road Service
The installation is served by the primary
Minsk-Slutsk highway.
Administrative and Troop Housing Area
Area D contains one administrative build-
ing, six probable barracks, and two support
buildings. The administration building andbar-
racks have been added since Q coverage.
General Storage Area
Area E contains four storage buildings. The
to a scarred clearing in a wooded area 0.5
km south of the ammunition storage area.
A secured area 0.7 km southwest, with a
direct road connection to the Minsk/Machu-
lishche Airfield and surrounded by a fire-
break, contains four storage buildings. The

indicate possible explosives storage.

Ammunition Storage Area

age buildings and one storage
