This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and logistic
installations being prepared for a I)IA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows; (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (C) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), ([t) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing area or courses, (S) special training facilities, ('I') unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

A POL storage area is located on the eastern
outskirts of Pinsk (52-07N 026-07E) on the south
side of the Brest-Litovskaya rail line (Figure 1).
The installation is served by a spur from this
line and has access via all-weather secondary
roads to the Pinsk urban area. A SA-0 SAM
site and related facilities are located approxi-
mately 4.5 kilometers (km) west and a Military
Barracks Area is located approximately 10
km west.
The secured POL storage area covers ap-
proximately 17 acres and contains 11 vertical
tanks and 2 rows of probable horizontal tanks.
The installation was covered by four KEYHOLE
Missions between
Comparative analysis of KEYIIOLEphotog-
raphy of in-
dicates no apparent change in the level of usage.
This installation is connected by a rail spur
to the Brest-Litovskaya railroad line. The spur
appears to pass through the fenced installation
to form a "Y", with a return track outside the
installation.
This storage area is served by secondary
all-weather roads with connections to the pri-
mary roads of Pinsk.

POL Storage Tanks
Area G1 contains two vertical tanks and two
banks of horizontal tanks. Comparative analysis
reveals the same level of usage for the tanks,
but the small scale of photography precludes
mensuration. 25X1 D
Area G2 contains two vertical tanks,
feet in diameter, and seven vertical tanks,
feet in diameter.
Support Buildings
Three small support buildings are located
in the POI, storage area.
