This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing area or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

Bereza Ammunition Depot Bronnaya Gora
is located 1.5 kilometers (km) northwest of
Bronnaya Gora (52-37N 25-05E) and 11.5 km
northeast of Bereza (52-32N 24-59E) on the
north side of the Brest-Baranovichi rail line
(Figure 1). The installation is served by a
single track spur from the main line and has
probable all-weather road access to the Brest-
Slutsk highway. The Bereza Barracks Area,
Vaselda (AL-2), is located approximately 13
km to the southwest.
This installation covers approximately 770
acres enclosed by double and triple fencing and
includes 49 ammunition storage buildings, one
bunkered building, one high-bay building and
one support building (Figures 2 and 3). The

outside the secured installation contains two
administration, six barracks, 14 storage and
14 support buildings. This installation also
contains an athletic field, a possible water
tank, and a parade ground.

The area is served by a spur from the main
line. The spur makes a loop within the storage
area, and forms three sub-spurs to service
all buildings in the area. A classification yard
is located in the village of Bronnaya Gora.
The installation is connected by a probable
all-weather road to the Brest-Slutsk Highway.
Administration and Troop Housing Areas
Area D (Figure 3) contains two adminis-
tration buildings, six barracks, and 11 support
buildings. Five barracks and five support build-

Ammunition Storage Areas
Area Fl contains 43 ammunition storage
buildings (165 by 65 feet) and one support
building. The ammunition storage buildings
are well dispersed and readily accessible by
rail or road. The buildings are neither bunk-
ered nor revetted.
