This report is a partial answer to DIA re-
quirement DIAXX 63-84, to verify the location
of selected military installations in Hungary and
to perform a photo analysis to determine func-
tion, number and dimensions of buildings, to
estimate-troop capacity, to identify and describe
related training areas and facilities, and to con-
firm or negate ammunition and POL storage.
Photography of 0 was used for
identification and mensuration of the instal-
25X1 lations and the buildings within them. The
25X1 D installations were observed on poor quality
photography of
25X1 D but no changes were apparent from the
photography.
The military installations described below
and shown in Figures 1 and 2 have a total
estimated troop capacity of 4,959.*
Gyor Army Barracks No 1 Rakoczi

110 by 45 feet, a total for the three bar-
racks buildings of 127,050 square feet
probably three-story administration

This military installation located in south
central Gyor covers eight acres and contains:
2 E-shaped probably three-story barracks
buildings, each with a base 280 by 40,
two wings 55 by 45, and one wing 85
by 30 feet
1 probably three-story barracks building
2 storage buildings, 220 by 40 and 100, by
40 feet, a total of 12,800 square feet
1 vehicle shed 320 by 30 feet
7 miscellaneous support buildings ranging
from 180 by 40 to 30 by 20 feet
no observed ammunition or POL storage:

This installation located on the south-south-
east edge of Gyor covers 23 acres and contains:
1 E-shaped probably two-story barracks
building, with a base 140 by,,. 30, two
wings 30 by 15, and one wing;-55 by
15 feet
1 T-shaped probably two-story barracks
building, the base 110 by 40 and the
wing 35 by 15 feet
12 probably two-story barracks buildings;
four 100 by 25 and eight 90 by 55 feet,
a total for the 14-barracks buildings of
120,900 square feet
1 one-story administration building 75 by
40 feet, with a total of 3,000 square feet
5 vehicle sheds, three 330 by 40 and two
300 by 40 feet
11 miscellaneous support buildings ranging
from 250 by 40 to 40 by 15 feet
1 firing range 290 by 75 feet
no observed ammunition or POL !storage.
Training Area and Ammunition Dump
building 80 by 55 feet, with a total of
?13,200 square feet
*Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet
of space per man.

This training area and ammunition dump
from 185 by 50 to 20
by 20 feet
3.2 miles north-northeast of Gyor covers ap-
proximately 2,000 acres.
The double-fenced ammunition dump is
approximately 1,500 by 680 feet and includes:
5 revetted ammunition storage buildings,
three 45 by 35 and two 20 by 10 feet, a
total of 5,125 square feet
3 miscellaneous support buildings, one 40
by 20 and two 10 by 10 feet.
The training area facilities include:
1 tank firing range 2,250 by 520 feet
numerous trench systems and weapon
emplacements scattered throughout
the area.
This area does not appear to be well
maintained.
