PART 2 REPORTS ON OTHER TARGETS, PRIMARILY IN THE USSR. ANALYSIS IS CONTINUING. PART I ~~?~ PARTS OF IRAQ, AND ALL BUT THE EASTERN EXT`R~EMLTIES OF JORDAN ARE COVERED. ALTHOUGH NO COVERAGE WAS OBTAINED FOR THE SUEZ CANAL, WESTERN SINAI, AND RED SEA COAST AREAS, ALL OTHER SIGNIFICANT AREAS IN EGYPT ARE COVERED ON 4 PASSES OF FAIR-TO-GOOD INTER- PRETABILITY. HOWEVER, AN UNUSUALL GERY OF NOR H ~ EGYPT, NORTHER N SYRIA, 25X1 IS DEGRADED BY CLOUD COVER. 25X1 2. N EGYPT, AIR ORDER OF BATTLE APPEARS NORMAL AT THE 15 PRIORITY AIRFIELDS IMAGED. HANGARETTES ARE OBSERVED FOR THE FIRST TIME AT QUWEISNA AIRFIELD, WHERE 11 HANGARETTES HAVE BEEN CONSTRUCTED. THREE ADDITIONAL HANGARETTES HAVE BEEN BUILT AT EL MANSURA, MAKING A TOTAL OF 6 AT THIS AIRFIELD. THE 20 HANGARETTES AT ALMAZA AIRFIELD APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN EARTH COVERED. CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES ON DISPERSAL AREAS, HANGARETTES, AND REVETMENTS AT BENI SUEF, INCHAS, AND CAIRO WEST AIRFIELDS. THE RUNWAY OF THE NEW AIRFIELD AT AZ ZAGAZIG APPEARS COMPLETE, AND CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES AT ABU AL MATAMIR AND BIRMA AIRFIELDS. THE AIRFIELD AT FAIYUM, 29-32N 030-53E, WITH A 9,300-FT SERVICEABLE RUNWAY WHICH WAS NEWLY IDENTIFIED ON THE FIRST IS MISSION IS AGAIN OBSERVED. NO AIRCRAFT ARE VISIBLE 25X1 ALEXANDRIA IS PARTIALLY CLOUD COVERED ON~ AND NO 25. UNUSUAL NAVAL ACTIVITY IS DISCERNIBLE. 9. OF OWN EGYPTIAN SA-2 SAM SITES, 27 ARE COVERED ON 1 PASS OF THESE, 19 ARE OCCUPIED, 3 ARE PROBABLY 25X OCCUPIED, 1 IS UNOCCUPIED, 2 ARE CLOUD COVERED, AND 2 CAN BE IDENTIFIED ONLY. THREE OF THE 6 KNOWN SAM SUPPORT FACILITIES ARE OBSERVED. ONE APPEARS OCCUPIED, 1 IS PROBABLY OCCUPIED, AND 1 IS OF UNDETERMINED OCCUPANCY. THE PROBABLE SAM SUPPORT FACILITY IS OBSERVED, BUT OCCUPANCY IS UNDETERMINED. THE 3 TRAINING AREAS ARE OBSERVED AND ALL APPEAR INACTIVE. NO NEW SAM INSTALLATIONS ARE IDENTIFIED. 5. IN SYRIA, ONLY 3 PRIORITY AIRFIELDS ARE IMAGED. TWO NEW HANGARETTES ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT DUMEIR AIRFIELD. CON- STRUCTION CONTINUES AT THE NEW AIRFIELDS OF KHALKHALAH, DAMASCUS EAST, AND JAYRUD. HEAVY CLOUD COVER ALONG THE COAST PRECLUDES DETERMINATION OF NAVAL ACTIVITY OR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PORT FACILITIES. 6. TWELVE OF THE 25 KNOWN SOVIET ICBM COMPLEXES ARE COVERED ON THIS MISSION DOMBAROVSKIY, DROVYANAYA, ITATKA, KARTALY, OMSK, SHADRINSK, IMENI GASTELLO, NOVOSIBIRSK, AND TATISHCHEVO ARE CLEAR WITH SNOW COVER. TYUMEN, VERKHNYAYA SALDA, AND ZHANGIZ-TOBE ARE OBSERVED THROUGH SCATTERED-TO-HEAVY CLOUDS. AT DOMBAROVSKIY, A SIXTH TYPE IIIC SINGLE SILO LAUNCH SITE IS IDENTIFIED IN LAUNCH GROUP G. ONE CONFIRMED AND 2 POSSIBLE TYPE IIIC LAUNCH SITES ARE NEWLY IDENTIFIED AT ZHANGIZ-TOBE IN LAUNCH CROUP E. SITE SUPPCli~tT BUILDINGS ARE PRESENT AT EACH OF THE 2 POSSIBLE SITES, BCJ'~ NO SILO EXCAVATIONS ARE APPARENT. THE PLESETSK MISSILE AND SPACE CENTER IS NOT COVERED. 2. THE TYURATAM MISSILE TEST CENTER IS COMPLET ON PHOTOGRAPHY OF FAIR-TO-GOOD INTERPR1rTABILITY ON 25X1 THE GANTRY FOR G4 HAS RETURNED TO ITS OSUAL POSITION A MISSILE EXERCISES ARE OBSERVED AT THE CENTER 25X1 3. ALL OF THE LAUNCH FACILITIES AT THE KAPUSTIN YAR/VLAD- OVKA MISSILE TEST CENTER ARE COVERED ON pHOTOGRAPHYO 25X1 HOWEVER, INTERPRETATION IS SEVERELY HAMPERED BY SNOW COVER. 25X1 CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES AT LAUNCH AREA 6C. 4. NINE OF THE 46 SA-5 SAM COMPLEXES ARE OBSERVED, INCLUDING SARY-SHAGAN D10-5 AND B04-5, NIZHNIY TAGIL D07-5, SVERDLOVSK B05-5, VOLGOGRAD C21-5, TOMSK B3~J-5, KAPUSTIN YAR A18-5, CHELYABINSK B05-5, AND TYURATAM B23-5. NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES ARE OBSERVED. NONE OF THE MOSCOW ABM FACILITIES ARE COVERED. 5. THE SARY-SHAGAN ANTIMISSILE TEST CENTER IS COVERED FROM THE ASAT/SPACE TRACKING RADAR FACILITY IN THE EAST TO TRACKING FACILITY 9 IN THE WEST ON 1 PA ~ RALLY POOR INTERPRETABILITY WITH SNOW CONDITIONS PREVAILING THE EMBA MISSILE TEST CENTER IS 25X1 COVERED ON CLEAR PHOTOGRAPHY OF FAIR INTERPRETABILITY 25X1 NO NEW MISSILE FACILITIES ARE OBSERVED. 6. AT THE SHUANG-CHENG-TZU MISSILE TEST CENTER, CHINA, ONLY THE INSTRUMENTATION SITES ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE RANGE ARE COVERED. ALL OF THE 5 SUSPECT ADVANCED WEAPONS RELATED FACILITIES IN CHINA ARE OBSERVED ON FAIR-TO-POOR PHOTOGRAPHY. NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES ARE OBSERVED AT ANY OF THE INSTALLATIONS. 7. LAN-CHOU SAM SITE BG3-2 CHINA HAS B ONED AND IS BEING DROPPED FROM NPIC LISTINGS. AS OBSERVED 0 5 OF THE 6 25 LAUNCH POSITIONS HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO THEIR NATURAL STATE AND THE REMAINING LAUNCH POSITION AND THE GUIDANCE AREA APPEAR TO BE DETERIORATING . 8.
