PART I REPORTS ON HIGH INTEREST TARGETS OBSERVED IN THE MIDDLE EAST, PART 2 ON CHINA SOUTH OF 32 DEGREES NORTH AND NORTH VIETNAN, PART 3 ON NORTH KOREA, AND PART 4 ON OTHER TARGETS, PRIMARILY IN THE USSR. ANALYSIS IS CONTINUING. PART 1 1. PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE MIDDLE EAST IS OF GOOD INTERPRETABILITY. HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY 30 PERCENT AND THE SUEZ-SINAI AREA IS CLOUD COVERED. WADI ABU GHUSUN AND MINA BARANIS ARE CLOUD FREE. AIRFIELDS AT DUKHAYLAH, AL MINYA, AL ARISH, GEBEL LIBNI, BIR JIFJAFAH NEW, AND BIR HASANAH NEW, ALL N EGYPT ARE CLOUD COVERED. CLOD COVER ALSO PRECLUDES READOUT 2. OF THE 41 KNOWN SA-2 SAM SITES IN EGYPT, 19 ARE COVERED. OF THESE, 11 ARE OCCUPIED. AN OCCUPIED SA-2 SAM SITE IS NEWLY IDENTIFIED 11.7 NM SW OF AL ISMAILIYA AT 30-26-20N 032-10-10E. ALSO COVERED ARE TWO OF THE KNOW SAM SUPPORT FACILITIES. HOWEVER OCCUP NCY IS UNDETERMINED 4. THE AS SUWAYS SUSPECT CW STORAGE AREA AND THE AS SUWAYS CHEMICAL PLANT SAE, EGYPT, ARE COVERED ON PHOTOGRAPHY OF GOOD INTERPRETABILITY. NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES OBSERVED. 5. IN ALGERIA, BEAGLE (10) ARE IDENTIFIED FOR THE FIRST TIME AT LAGHOUAT/EL MEKRAREG AIRFIELD. 6. AT ALHUDAYDAH NEW AIRFIELD IN YEMEN AN INCREASE OF 4 BEAGLE AND 4 FRESCO/FAGOT IS OBSERVED SINCE ~. THE PORT AREA IS IMAGED ON CLOUD-FREE PHOTOGRAPHY. PART II 1. SOUTH CHINA AND NORTH VIETNAM ARE APPROXIMATELY 30-35 PERCENT CLOUD COVERED WITH APPROXIMATELY 90 PERCENT OF NORTH VIETNAM COVERED ON TWO PASSES. 2. NAVAL TARGETS IN SOUTH CHINA ARE CLEAR WITH THE EXCEPTION CF YU-LIN. ORDER OF BATTLE APPEARS TO BE AT NORMAL LEVELS. BOTH HAIPHONG AND HANOI ARE CLOUD FREE. 3. OF THE 224 KNOWN SA-2 SAM SITES IN NORTH VIETNAM, SEVEN ARE THUS FAR OBSERVED IN CLOUD-FREE AREAS. NO NEW SAM INSTALLATIONS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED. PART III 1. APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF OF NORTH KOREA IS COVERED ON PHOTOGRAPHY WHICH IS 100 PERCENT CLOUD FREE FROM THE CHINA BORDER TO JUST NORTH OF THE DMZ. THE DMZ IS COMPLETELY CLOUD COVERED. 2. OF THE 14 KNOWN SA-2 SAM SITES AND THE ONE KNOWN SAM SUPPORT FACILITY IN NORTH KOREA, SEVEN SAM SITES AND THE SUPPORT FACILITY ARE COVERED. NAMPO SAM SITE B30-2 AND THE FOLLOWING PYONGYANG SAM SITES ARE OCCUPIED: C33-2, C05-2, C29-2, B17-2, B23-2, AND C12-2. OCCUPANCY CANNOT BE DETERMINED FOR THE PYONGYANG SAM SUPPORT FACILITY. 3. CHOLSAN SUSPECT CRUISE MISSILE/COASTAL DEFENSE SITE AND NAMPO CRUISE MISSILE LAUNCH NO 1 ARE COVERED ON PHOTOGRAPHY OF GOOD INTERPRETABILITY, AND THE LATTER FACILITY APPEARS OCCUPIED. PART IV 1. SEVEN OF THE 25 KNOWN SOVIET ICBM COMPLEXES ARE COVERED. KARTALY, SV OBODNYY, YOSHKAR-OLA, AND ZHANGIZ-TOBE ARE CLEAR, AND ALEYSK, VERKHNYAYA SALDA, AND TATISHCHEVO ARE OBSERVED THROUGH SCATTERED CLOUDS OR HAZE. TWO NEW SITES ARE IDENTIFIED AT YOSHKAR- CI.A, BRINGING TO 12 THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SINGLE SILO SITES AT THIS COMPLEX. 2. THE TYURATAM MISSILE TEST CENTER AND THE PLESETSK MISSILE AND SPACE CENTER, USSR, ARE NOT COVERED. 3. ONLY THE SAM RANGEHEAD FACILITIES AND THE AKHTUBINSK/ VLADIMIROVKA AIRFIELD AT THE KAPUSTIN YAR/VLADIMIROVKA TEST CENTER, USSR, ARE OBSERVED ON PHOTOGRAPHY THROUGH SCATTERED CLOUDS. SA-5 SAM LAUNCH COMPLEXES COVERED ON INTERPRETABLE PHOTOGRAPHY INCLUDE NIZHNIY-TAGIL, NIZHNYAYA TUBA, SVERDLOVSK, CHELYABINSK, VLADIVOSTOK, AND KAPUSTIN YAR. ALL REVEAL SNOW CONDITIONS. AN OCCUPIED AIR WARNING RADAR FACILITY IS NEWLY IDENTIFIED NEAR THE CHELYABINSK SA-5 SAM LAUNCH COMPLEX. 5. THE SKRUNDA ABM/SPACE TRACKING RADAR FACILITY HAS SCATTERED-TO-HEAVY HAZE, CLOUD COVER, AND SNOW CONDITIONS. THE AREA OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE POSSIBLE NEW DUAL HEN HOUSE RADAR IS VISIBLE THROUGH THE HAZE. HOWEVER, THE REMAINDER OF THE SKRUNDA FACILITY IS OBSCURED BY HAZE AND CLOUDS. 6. THE KAMCHATKA HEN HOUSE SEARCH AREA IS CLOUD COVERED/NOT COVERED. 7. THE TWO HIGH PRIORITY SOVIET NAVAL TARGETS, VLADIVOSTOK AND PETROVKA, ARE CLOUD COVERED. 8. THE SHUANG-CHENG-TZU MISSILE TEST CENTER IS COVERED ON PHOTOGRAPHY OF FAIR INTERPRETABILITY ON NO ACTIVITY IS APPARENT AT LAUNCH COMPLEXES A, C, OR D. CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY CONTINUES AT LAUNCH COMPLEX B WHERE A NEW RAIL SPUR APPROXIMATELY 700 FEET IN LENGTH HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED IN THE VICINITY OF THE LAUNCH AREA SINCE 9. THREE OF THE SUSPECT ADVANCED WEAPONS-RELATED FACILITIES IN CHINA ARE OBSERVED. THE MOUNDING OF THE CENTRAL STRUCTURES AT PEI-CHING ESE IS PROBABLY COMPLETE.
