1. Forwarded herewith is the Far East Division
Design and Construction Activities Report dated
1 December 1966 in the format suggested by Reference A
and clarified by Reference B.
2. It should be noted that for an area as large as
the FE Area timely and accurate reporting on all projects
on a monthly basis is difficult to achieve. However, it
is felt that reasonably good report data is obtained as
an adjunct to fulfillment of the basic mission of the
Regional Engineer Office when supplemented by feeder
reports and special messages from other area units.
3. In the interest of updating and possible further
simplification of subject report after nearly two years
use, comments are requested concerning content, date of
submission, scope, etc., particularly in view of possible
changes in requirements at the Headquarters level. In
this connection it is understood that the Station Engineer
for the Vietnam Station has had some difficulty in submit-
ting subject report and is in the process of recommending
certain changes to meet local policies and conditions.
Over the period of the last fourteen months, a similar
type report was submitted directly to Headquarters with
an information copy to the Regional Engineer Office at
