Selection of Agency Nominees for Senior Officer
1. Nominations of CIA representatives to attend the 1967-68
sessions of the Senior Defense Collages# the Senior Seminar In Foreign
Policy, and the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University will
be cons i de reed by the Training Selection Board In August 1966, and
candidates and alternates will then be recommended to the Deputy Director
of Central Intelligence for final approval. To accomplish this selection
action on schedule, I would appreciate I t i f you will forward the names
of your candidates for these Schools to the Training Selection Board
by 29 July 1966.
2. As you know, the quotas are filled on an Agency-wide basis so
you may nominate as many candidates as you wish for each of the Schools.
In listing nominations for each School, please rank your cand i da tes In
preferential order. If you nominate the some Individual for more than
one School, i t will be helpful If you Indicate your order of preference
of Schools for that Individual.
3. to submitting your nominations, you should include a career
plan and a current biographic profile (both In six copies) for each
candidate. The plan should provide information pertaining to the assign-
ment planned for each nominee upon completion of the course proposed for
him and should also indicate how the recommended training will make the
individual a more effective employee of the Agency.
4. As noted above, please send your nominations to my office on
it before 29 Jul 1966. The Executive Secretary of the Training Selection
Board (ext. 2193) will gladly furnish descriptive Information or answer
25X1A9a any specific questions you may have concerning the Senior Officer Schools.
