SUBJECT: Request for Comments;
1. The records of the Clandestine Services Group of
the Historical Staff show that you are the holder of copy
number 13 of the 1 May 1965 "Handbook for the Writing
of Clandestine Services History."

2. This Handbook was issued in order to provide
some guidance for those preparing CS historical papers.
You were advised when given this Handbook that a revised
edition would be prepared about the end of 1965, after
we had had some experience in its use. It was understood
that the new edition would apply the suggestions of those
who had been using the 1 May 1965 issue, in order that
the ultimate official Handbook would present as much
specific assistance as possible.
3. Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
Recommended additions, delitions, and changes should be
received prior to 15 January 1966 when the new edition
goes to press. If suitable to your need, telephonic
