In any case, they propose s low-level reading course only, to start in the Fall. 25X1A 2~ ~ talked with DC/EE concerning a possible training 25X1A pro3ect for teaching an aural comprehension course in several languages for monitors. suggested NSA as a possible source of suitable train will look into this further even though the Divisions interest has waned somewhat in view of the length of time involved. 25X1 A 3. came to consult- on 25X1 A problems of testing and training personnel for overseas trans- lating and transcription of Russian, He informed us that this is of interest to the Transcription Task Force devoted to the subject, and to which FE felt 25X1A that existing examinations for their personnel need to be greatly improved and new training programs possibly set up. It was 25X1A decided that as soon as SR/~ needs are more clearly formulated the DC will request of LTS whatever assistance mey be required. 25X1A 4. We are now experiencing the annual swnmer sharp increase in - requests for assistance in language testing by Agency staff members and LTS contract personnel.
