1. The Intermediate Course in Spoken Thai which has been
laid on for a student from FE Division at .our new training
25X1A facility ~ was discontinued after one class, FE
offered to come up with another student, in order to salvage
this laboriously laid on training course However, this
offer was withdrawn and LTS is ont approximately $500,00,
not to m?ntion damaged relations and embarrassment. ~7e are
having -some new Thai training materials developed so that
25X1A this effort is not a total loss. -has discussed this 25X1A
matter with ~.
25X1A 2. - spent the morning of 13 July.at Headquarters
of-the Defense Language .Institute (DLI) in conference with
25X1A They reviewed t~,e outline far
the lesson units to be prepared for the overseas language
training program of DLI . This is in preparation for 25X1 A
detail to DLI for the first 3 weeks in August, at which time
he will be at DLI/tom (Monterey, California) assisting and
guiding the preparation of their OLTP course materials in
Chinese. The DLI has requested that detail be 25X1A
moved forward a week tv include the last week of July and
25X1 A the first 2 weeks of August. Since this can be done t,Tith a
simpld change in the date of orders we have con-
curred in the request.
