DATE: 22 July 1965
1. - visited Defense Language Institute on
Monday to discuss their facilities.for training foreign
language monitors. The bulk of their monitor training
is done at the West Coast Facility in Monterey and they
are willing to accept small numbers of students on a
space available basis.
2. The three-week project in teaching English as
~'a foreign language which we are undertaking for WH
began on Monday and is proceeding nicely. The Division
will reimburse us for all-costs.
3. LTS appears to be in the middle of as much of ~.-
a summer slump in enrollment as we normally experience,
with 17 full-time, 48 part-time classes, and 27
tutorials in progress. The downward trend will
probably continue until near or after Labor Day. 25X1A
2 August. Returns are not yet in on the number
to be tested, but it will probably be less than
200.
