SIGNIFICANT ITEMS None to report. B. OTHER ACTIVITIES 1. The last three of the 15 classes in the V 25X1A 25X1A i.e., 25 or more hours of absence out of the 95 to 98 regular class hours. Voluntary Language Training Program ended on 12 August, thus officially closing the Spring-Summer semester 1965. Seventy-one out of the 133 who began classes in March completed their full 20 weeks VLTP training. The dropout rate this semester was 47%. Of the 71 students 17 had poor attendance records, 2. Twenty-one VLTP students took Agency Profi- ciency Tests at the end of the basic course in French, German, Russian and Spanish. Four are scheduled to take the Italian test. 3. is back from three weeks at Defense Language Institute/WC (formerly Army Language School) in Monterey, California. He was there as a consultant on their overseas language training program, especially the Chinese course. The work was progressing well and was able to give overall help with the form o t Me course and framed the grammar section of the I Chinese course into practically its final form. DOCUMENT NO. Experienced a mild scare on the 25X1A water supply while the German language group was there during the week 2-6 August. called and 25X1A informed that the water samples, taken by a testing laboratory, indicated the presence of bacteria. Small indeed but sufficient to warrant necessary precautions. Further samples were taken and subsequent analysis proved negative. The language group took the inconven- ience in stride and completed the week without incident. 6. The reserve water supply, for fire 25X1A fighting purposes, has been installed and is operative. The tank is underground and only the outlet is visible. A fire detection system is scheduled for installation within the next two weeks. This will provide a degree of protection from fire when the site is unoccupied. 7.
