E. I (called to say that unless OTR has objec-
tions, OCR plans to sponsor in October (18 or 25) a four-day
course "Evaluating Document Retrieval Systems." This is a
course given by of the Center for Information
Resources Inc. will contract with OCR to present
this course a L e at approximately $50 a head to be paid
for from OCR4 plans to schedule thirty OCR people 25X1
for these four days although he will make certain of these slots
available for others if there is a demand. can 25X1
handle more than 30 and I would like to suggest to
that we open the course up to general Agency participation, al-
though limiting the number of employees, and handle it as Ex-
ternal Training, paying for it from External Training Funds.
It would be a big savings over individual enrollments at the
Center for in this way we could train three to four times as
many people for the same cost.
F. We have received from the Civil Service Commission
formal notification of the final allocation to CIA of spaces
for FY-166 seminars at the Kings Point Center. The training
spaces reserved for Agency use are precisely the ones we speci-
fied except that we were given only two of the six slots sought
in runnings of. the Seminar on Skills and Goals of Management.

"I do not believe that the Great Society is the
ordered, changeless, and sterile battalion of the ants.
It is the excitement of becoming -- always becoming,
trying, probing, falling, resting, and trying again--
but always trying and always gaining.
In each generation - with toil and tears - we have
had to earn our heritage again."
