Courses
a. Staayybehind Operations Course No. 16 was given 7-18 January
1957 with three students in attendance. Due to the small group the
Instruction was given along tutorial lines and in two weeks instead of
the regular three weeks. Two of the students are leaving ry
for field steybehind eissignments, so it is felt the effort was well spent.

enrolled - the largest class to date. More than ten prospects have had
to be refused admittance during the past week in view of the limited capacity
of the auditorium. Although no quota was placed by (7 R on the. number
of at n as acceptable from each division, eal desks were not

to add additional students after registration
were-allowed to replace any of their own applicants with later enrollees
if they so desired. The final tally shows 5 DD/S and 49 DD/P, the latter
being divided into 29 Fl, 15 PP and 5 cps support. The grade range is
from 7 to 15 but heavily weighted toward the senior grades. One of the
most interesting facts about this class is that 16 of the 54 students
have had ten or more years with the Agency or its predecessors.

d. Of the ten students in Information Reporting.. Reports,
and Requirements, nine are, reports officers or prospective reports
officers. The other is interested in reporting as photography can
ploy a part in it. This in the first running of the course with no
case officer registered. Generally the division into a case-officer
group and a reports-officer group has been about equal. For the
four students who will be closest to operations in the field, the
emphasis during the next two weeks of the course will be on the
operational aspects of reporting. The remainder of the students
instead of carrying out a reporting assignment will give special
attention to the probleas of requirements. Both groups will continue
to process information reports in the laboratory.
eo Counterespionage Operations No. 7 is in its final week.
