OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Office of AF/OS
1. The Chief/Operations school was bare from Monday morning,
1 April, to Thursday morning, 1. April. During this period he
presented a lecture to Operations Course #ii entitled "Organization
and Functions of the Clandestine Services. He also discussed
several Operations School problems with AF/OS and D/AF/0S 25:1,46a
and other Training Staff members.
25X1A9a 2. The Chief/JOTP, and were 25X1A9a
here from Wednesday afternoon, 3 April, to Thursday, 1} April. They
discussed matters pertaining to the JOT Program with C/OS and AF OS
and conferred with several JOT's currently in training at 25:1,46a
25X1A9a 3, from the Operations School Headquarters
Staff was here on Tunes ay, 2 April to present the lecture, "Intelli-
gence Services in Foreign Affairs.' This is the initial lecture
given to Operations Course students and in several ways sets the
stage for instruction during the remainder of the Course. We con-
sider ourselves fortunate indeed to have had a former Staff member
return to present this lecture. As was expected, did 25:1,9a

instruction with Operations Course staff members.
6. The Executive Officer/OTR was here from Tuesday evening
until Wednesday, 3 April. He conferred with C/OS and. AF/OS con-
cerning several support maters.
7. The regular Weekly Staff Conference for Course and Unit
Chiefs was conducted by AF/OS on Friday, 5 April.

Operations Course
1? OC #1 commenced on 1 April with 47 students reporting
for the Course. Two students are prospective Instructors 25X1,46a
and 14 students are JOT'a. On 2 Aprilcae student sustained a
slight back sprain on the Obstacle Course and on 3 April one stu-
dent suffered a sprained ankle on the volleyball court.
2. At the beginning of this Course we had five new staff
members, making a total of 12, including the Planning Officer and
Chief Instructor.
25:1,9a 3. was TDY at HQS on the afternoon of 3 April
and 4 April in connection with release for training of A
action case.

1. Mr, gave an excellent, first-hand-experience
briefing to the film, "Fight for Heavy Water," on Monday evening.
2. On Tuesday morning, presented the 25:1,49a
lecture on "Staybehind and Evasion and Escape.
3. On Tuesday afternoon exhibited agent W/T 25:1A9a
equipment. The Comoro: W/T section of the 0TR training film was
shown in conjunction with the exhibit. AF/Cd participated In
describing the uses of the W/T equipment.

. Th~Suurveillance Exercise was held on Thursday.
Pour teams went to nearby cities, all without incident.

Three students received medical attention during the
week. Fortunately the students were able to keep up with Course
as ts; one caught up on written work during the running of
thee Surveillance Exercise and another dictated his work on
a tape recorder.

1. CPA completed a survey of the new Survival Area in the

3. The underbrush and logs along the forest roads and trails
in the northeast section were cleared.

5. The Obstacle Course was surveyed and recommendations for
necessary repairs were made.

problems conducted during the week or the trainee.

1. Training in connection with Project was completed
on 5 April. All of the instruction was completed as scheduled.
2. A week of instruction in Caching and Air Operations was
given to two tutorial,students. The final week of instruction
in Evasion and Escape will be presented next week,
will be here to assist in the instruction on 8,.. 9, JKqP it.

3. The Film Unit was here 1 5 April to continue shooting
on the Caching Film.

1. Acting Chief/TEB was here on 5 April to confer on train-
ing evaluation matters.
25:1,9a 2. continued his program of familiarisation
with training development and procedures.
3. The summary of comments from student critiques for the
eleventh and twelfth weeks of OC #3 and summary of ratings and
comments from student critiques for the first two weeks of OFC #8
were completed and submitted.
li.. Evaluation support of OC:
a. A list of all written work required of students in
the first eight weeks of 00 was prepared.
b. A statement of recommendations for briefings to
students regarding each of six specific exercises in the
first eight weeks was submitted to PO/OC.
c. The new "Daily Seminar Record" and new form for
recording seminar grades on a block of instruction were
prepared and distributed to seminar leaders,
d. The blank critique forms for the first two weeks of
0C #4 were developed,, reproduceds assembled and submitted
to PO/0C.
e. A conference was hold with Chief/Reporting Committee
regarding the development of the critique guide for the first
Information Reporting Exercises and regarding general require-
ments of evaluating reporting performance.
Training Aids Unit

1. Graphics and Photography:
a. Nine transparencies pertaining to reporting were
completed for 00..
b. Four transparencies made from Illustrations of Staff
Members were developed for use in the Lecture on Description
of People.

c. Fifteen complete sets of ID pictures of 00 #4,
consisting of 705 prints, were completed during the past
week.
d. Hand-lettered name plates for students and staff
members were completed for use in the OC seminars.
e. Props for use in the Cover Demonstration have been
assembled.
f. An effort will be made to cover the sliding panels
in Arenas A and B with metal, in order that they may be used
as large magnetic boards. This will facilitate the use of
very large charts which would be too difficult to execute on
outsized paper,

25X1A9a 1. was TDY here Wednesday afternoon to
Friday noon to coordinate TSS lectures and to participate in the
OC #4 station skit.
2. TSS is transferring eight Magnecorder Tape Recorders to
Chief/TAU. These will replace the. existing EKO tape recorders
now in use and most of which are in poor repair,
