It would appear that there are maxW non?IAC agencies normally not called upon for direct support of BIB production reguirsaents who can give considerable assistance in this direction. A case at point involves preparation, of Section 32 of ?I8 99. This was prepared by the Transportation Corps but found to have major deficiencies. The Transportation Corps Liaison Officer, Col.-Tandergiiff, was dissatisfied with the end product, and in the course of wgploiting other facilities he visited the Bureau Public 25X1X4 2. It is my* feeling that other support, principally in 7O&, could very such improve other sections of the BXS, principally the econcmic ones. The recent study by 70A on the economic statistics of the entire continent of Africa is an amazing piece of work and should be of unusual assistance to the Department of State in developing economic sections on that area. 3. In consequence r urge all. NU Committee Umbers and others within their organizations to explore more carefully this type of assistance which can be rendered to the NXS Program and which will make more complete the basic intelligence therein.
