REF : IV memorandum to you dated 12 August 19514, same subject.
In accordance with your request, the writer contacted the
Chief of the Procurement Division, Logistics Office, today to
arrange for the subject review. The Chief, Procurement Division,
advised that a report is expected shortly from an overseas agent
concerning the utilization of the funds involved and it is his
expectation that upon receipt of this report a substantial change
will occur in the financial status of the account. The writer
was given to understand that this change will involve actual
payment of incurred obligations in connection with the subject
operation. Accordingly, it was arranged that we would defer a
study of this matter until the latter part of September.
