1. Re paragraph 2 of reference, the replacement air conditioner is
needed to provide clean cool air in the file room. The sole file room
window is normally closed for security reasons and because it opens on the
bottom of an air shaft where refuse and dirt from above collect. Were the
window opened to provide needed ventilation the file room and its several
occupants would soon be covered with dust and, grit.
2. Under these circumstances adequate ventilation in the file room
can be obtained only through installation of an air-conditioner which at
once filters and cools the outside air. During the hot months the file room
becomes oppressively hot, and it is for this reason that the request for
shipment of a large-size replacement air conditioner is renewed.
