1. OSI was advised on Monday, 22 May 1950, that a
speaking interpreter was urgently needed by
It was further indicated that the individual, if avail-
able, should leave immediately in order that he might be of maximum
value.
2. The situation was explained to Chief, Foreign Documents
division, 00, who, with the approval of the Assistant Director, 00,
made one of his most competent translators available immediately.
With the utmost cooperation of the Administrative Staff, CIA, the
transfer was effected and the individual was on the plane for
within four days.
3. 0SI wishes to express its appreciation for the prompt and
efficient manner in which this matter was handled and for the
complete cooperation demonstratecby all concerned.
