MEMORANDUM FOR: The Record
ATTENTION : Office of Logistics/Space Planning Branch
SUBJECT : Future Space Requirements for the
Technical Services Division
1. The estimated space requirements for the Technical
Services Division, both for our short range (1968) and long
range (1975) plans, are attached herewith. In regard to our
short range planning, the Technical Services Division will
occupy the basement of South Building sometime in 1968
and intends to utilize this entire space (9000 square feet)
for technical laboratories. Our long range plans argue for
a separate building facility to accomodate all but one element
of the TSD ( i. e. , our Quick Reaction Facility Laboratnrur
to the Langley area, an additional office /warehouse/
a oratory requirement will exist with a total space require-
ment of 6000 square feet office, 6000 square feet warehousing,
11, 000 square feet laboratory space (33, 000 square feet total).

4. To summarize, TSD now occupies 72, 000 square
feet in the 2430 "E" Street area, 17, 000 square feet in the
and 22, 000 square feet in
for a total of 110, 000 square feet. Each of these facilities
should be considered for long range planning purposes to
be encompassed in a new facility in the Langley area.
Allowing for a slight (7%) expansion to cover unknown con-
tingencies, our long range requirements for a Technical
Services Building at Langley will approximate 120, 000
square feet.
