completion and the Assistant Director for Communications has advised
that the Stations will be manned with Communications personnel from
0700 to 1900, seven days each week.

2. I have discussed the security problem involved with Mr.
and he advised that the Station classification requires guard-
ing during off-duty hours. This being the case, three (3) additional
guards at each station (total of M will be necessary to adequately
protect Government real property, supplies and equipment. Four (Ii)
maintenance men (laborers) are also needed to cover the - stations
for janitorial service and the maintenance of grounds. The will be
responsible for the housekeeping of buildings and
of.land .
3. This same increase was requested in the Budget Hearing in
your office for the Fiscal Year 1955; however, as the Stations are
nearing completion your approval for immediate action should be
initiated in order that early clearances on prospective candidates
can be received.
