MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Personnel
SUBJECT : Loss of Experienced Employees
1. Your memorandum of 28 January 1958 requests information
concerning the extent to which this office is threatened by the
loss of capable professional employees.
2. The attrition of Office of Security professional employees
during the past year has decreased markedly, in fact only four
employees in grades GS-11 and above left the office in this period.
Two of these left to go into private law practice (one in the firm
of his father-in-law), another retired on disability and the fourth
left to go into the automobile business with his brother.
3. A review of the separations mentioned above and those
in previous years fails to disclose any indication that capable
professional employees are leaving the Office of Security as a
result of more attractive offers from any particular group.
