MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT Management Staff
REFERENCE: Memo for the Record dtd 10 Aug 57 by DD/S, same subject.
1. On 19 September 1957 1 saw in my office to
follow up on our conversation of 9 August ] wi i regar to his retire-
ment from the Agency.
2. I reminded at when we talked last he had indicated
that he would apply fors re rement, to be effective on I October 1957,
and asked him how he was progressing with his plans in this connection. He
said that he had given considerable thought to the matter and was prepared
to submit an application along the lines of our previous discussion. How-
ever he stated that while he had not actually done so he had been in touch
with the Office of Personnel which had supplied him with the necessary form.
I urged him to complete the form without delay and to get it into the proper
channels inasmuch as very little time remained between now and 1 October
in which to accomplish the required processing. He assured me that he
would do this.
3. Our conversation was entirely friendly.
