REFERENCE: Memorandum for Asst. to
the Deputy Director Support , dated 6 May

1. Referenced memorandum has been reviwed, and the following
comments concerning it are submitted for your information:
a. With respect to the reassignment of Mr.
from OTR to replace Mr. as the OL TOPPE
Officer, the following c n of events occurred:
(1) Memo from Director of Logistics to the
Director of Training, dated 5 December 1956, advised
that Mr. in adherence with plans made by OTR
was due to rotate from OL to OTR; and requested that
OTR provide a replacement for Mr.
(2) During mid-December 1956, OTR Personnel Officer
advised the OL Personnel Officer that OTR was nominating
as the replacement for Mr.
(3) On or about 8 January 1957, determination was
made by OL that Mr. would be acceptable as the
replacement for Mr. and OTR advised of this
decision. In addition, R was requested to make Mr.

SUBJECT: Directed Assignments
b. With respect to questions asked in referenced
memorandum, the following comments are provided:
(1) Office of Logistics was aware that Mr. 25X1A9a
file had been circulating around the Agency for Popp
was advised that the reason for this was that his
function in OTR had been curtailed and that he was avail-
able for reassignment.
(2) Office of Logistics was not aware of any situ-
ation wherein Mr. was being considered for a
proposed assignment o but was only aware that
Mr. - had been formally nominated as OTR's candi-
date to replace Mr.
(3) As of date, Mr. - has been serving as the
OL Training Officer since 1 March 1957 and has performed
all his duties and responsibilities in an acceptable
manner. Unless the Office of Training has other plans
for Mr. it is contemplated that he continue to
serve a Training Officer until further notice.
