NEY1ORANDUM FOR: Colonel White
1. I checked out your revision of the text on the mission 25X1A9a
of the Special Support Assistant with , and at first
he concurred,with the exception of wanting to substitute as follows:
"He serves as the focal point . . . ."
2. A. little later he called back and indicated that upon
further study he didn't quite see how his office could rdt_
support requirements and suggested that perhaps the following wording
would be short enough and satisfactory:
"The mission of the Special Support Assistant,
Deputy Director (Support), is to ensure adequate,
proper and timely support to the Clandestine
Services, serving as the focal point for the
Deputy Director (Support) and the Deputy Director
(Plans),"
3. Another version of the same idea which he suggested is:
"The mission of the Special Support Assistant,
Deputy Director (Support), serving as the focal point
for the Deputy Director (Support) and the Deputy
Director (Plans), is to ensure adequate, proper and
timely support to the Clandestine Services."
4. If you wish to include any of these recommendations in
the final text, please indicate in the margin and I will have an
appropriate copy developed for forwarding to Regulations Control
Staff.
