1. As you know, a Legislative Task Force of the CIA
Career Service Board is presently considering various proposals
Which may require Congressional action to implement certain
slsasses of the CIA Career Service Program. In addition to these
:proposals, there may well be other problems in connection with
Agency matters which can only be solved by legislation.
2. It is requested that you inform this Office by 15
October 1953 of any requests that your area may have r or jechic legi allation (other than suggestions now being considered
by the Career Service Board), so that all suggestions may be
considered. and a decision reached as to whether it will be nsecess-
:j+ary to request legislation for the Agency in the coming session
of the Congress,
