1. I believe if termination were to be contested by

have your letter to him a simple notice of his medical dis-
qualification and give him 30 days notice without reference to
the Veterans Preference Act or the various procedures for
appeal.
2. If you agree, would you redraft your letter again for
the signature of the Personnel Director. Please coordinate
your proposed answer with the Medical Staff. in cane
please discuss with them one more approach to
this time through the Medical Officer in charge o It case
at St. Elizabeth. Hospital to see if he can be persuaded to
resign before actual delivery of this letter. I think the
