Pitfalls or Lessons:
1. Age and rank of students at the senior schools is such that the
type of research specialization in which they engage is not very
valulable.They will probably never do that type of research again.
(However, one student said that it was important for senior
people to be exposed to and learn again good research techniques.)
2. Virtually everyone at senior schools seemed poorly informed about
(CIA.
3. Use loose structure with awareness by all that return is commensurate
with amount of effort put in.
4. Be sure class is a good cross-section.
5. Importance of social interaction.
6. (Consider dilemma raised by fact that DOD engages in long-range
planning, state engages in unsystematic, short-range planning
(although JFK told INR to take the longer view), and 'White
House engages in overnight planning.
