(Deactivation of the Headquarters Field Office)
Check Program and the review of RI files were delegated to the
Security Records Division. The OANC Program was taken over
by SRD on 25 July 1960. The RI function was assumed on 8 August
1960.

2. For historical purposes it is noted that the Headquarters
Field Office was established on I July 1954. The Headquarters
Field Office at that time assumed the duties, and responsibilities
of the Special Referral Branch of the Special Security Division.
The Special Referral Branch was abolished at that time. The
Special Referral Branch came into being in February 1952.
This was an outgrowth of the Special Referral Group.
