MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUB~TECT: Functioning of Equipment Safeguard Unit
Tana 1 runctioned Equipment
Safeguard Unit No. 8~t the ERDL Testing Grounds.; This unit has been stored
for almost a year an the purpose of the test was to see if it functioned
properly.
2. The rotor on the Safeguard Unit was turned halfway by hand then
pulled remotely with a wire to the fire position. Both boosters fired after
a delay of 36 seconds. The ambient temperature was 68oF.
3? The unit was examined afterwards and showed no signs of moisture
lealtage and the functioning was normal.
