MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Trip Report - Identification Kit - ED-128
Work is to continue on the portable typewriter carrying case. It appears
that a case of this type will meet our requirements adequately. The layout
of the new case was discussed and it was felt that in the future we can
change to portable typewriter cases of other manufacture without having to
redesign our internal configuration. The instruction book is to be rede-
signed. Each slide or overlay is to be represented full size in the book
and contain as much definition as the original overlay. The book will now
measure approximately 9x9 inches and contain about 25 additional-pages.

4. has been conducting a technical evaluation of our

gratifying and has been responsible for 14 arrests and convictions to date.
Four deputies were each given 25 hours of training in the use of the kit and
are having great success in its use. The Chief of the Identification Diftsion
is completely sold on the use of our kit as is the Sheriff.
ACTION: The undersigned will follow the development of the new hand-
book, carrying kit and additional overlays with the contractor. The program
will continue to be coordinated with who is to arrange 25X1
for a meeting between TSS and CI Staff. CI Staff has Agency responsibility
for conducting the evaluation of our kit. The results of this meeting will
be duly reported.
