The thoroughness and completeness with which the various subjects have been presented has proven of great value to the recipients. On 2 March 1959, the present class of forty-two (42) student officers of the Intelligence School commences a phase of the course which entails the writing of an intelligence estimate on pre-selected countries in the Middle East. Prior to the student application, however, it is desirable that they receive a lecture concerning the production of national estimates in order to acquaint them with the use resented intelligence lecture entitled planners Produc- national strategy. p tion of National Estimates" to the previous postgraduate class which was received with great interest and the subject of very favorable comment. It would be greatly appreciated if a member of the Central Intelligence Agency could again be made available this year to present a lecture to the students on the subject of "The National Intelligence Estimate". If feasible the most fitting date would be 2 March 1959, between the hours of 0830 and 1030. It is anticipated that there would be a question-and-answer period following the lecture in order for students to ask any questions they may have, all to be included in the two-hour period. Should this request receive favorable consideration details may be arranged by informal liaison with LCDR J. J. PAVEELLE, JR., USN who will coordinate this matter for the school. LCDR PAVELLE may be contacted by telephone on Code 1215, Extension 458. All student officers are cleared for material up to and including Top Secret,., Sincerely yours, E. T.
