This is the ninth in a series of monthly letter
reports covering the design* fabrication and test of
the four bane collection receiver. This report covers
the period ?rou 15 11-arch 1,960 to 13 Aril 1960,
Assembly and testing off' the various receiver
co pa tests has continued during this period. ,echauical
fabrication of the various units is coaplete. l Fabrication
of the printed boards for the vireo amplifiers anu the
co bininj; network has been delayed and consequently these
units have not been assembled as yet.
AssezZoly of the road and ;RF A plifiers, 11P Channel
Filters, and RP Ctanael Amplifiers is co rplete. `.These units
are presently being aligned and tested in the breadboard
system. 6ier* the final printed bards for the ;tip" amplifiers
were laid out, the ground plane area was increased considerably
to ir,rove ground continuity. Unfortunately this change has
altered the stray capacitances and inauctances associated
with the layout. Consequently, the interstae inductances
have to be aodi `ied to compensate for the added stray capacities.
This is a rather lengthy process and has delayed final alien-
~aent of the v,}lifiers by about ten days.
it is expected that the remaining units will be
cor pleted within the next two weeks so that tests can begin
on the completes receiver.
