Nemerandum from, Director of Communicatione, to Director of
Logistics, Subject: Approval of Task VII, Contract RD-79,
dated 16 August 1936.
1. Attached herewith are estimates
on cost increases resulting from increased ecope on Phases A and B and
the establishment of Phase D, Teel VII, RD-79. This work is necessary
to meet operational changes which have occurred, and to incorporate
provisione to permit programmed modernization after the original instal-
lations are .accomplished.
2. These estimates have been reviewed by the Engineering Division
and are considered acceptable. It is requested that the subject contract
be modified accordingly. The total increase to the contract is $20463.00
(Phew A, 317,401.00, Phase B, $1,526.00 and Phase D, a,136.00). Funds
in this amount are available and chargeable to Allotment No. 7-7912-50-600,
as indicated by the attached Reguiation 56. LISB 57-243.
3. It is requested that the contract termination date be extended
90 dere frau the date of approval of there changes. Agency association
with the contract is SECRET.

THE PROBlai:
To modify the materials, basic design concepts and configuration of the
materials covered in Items 1, 2 a b 0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to provide for
the establishment of the following as further delineated by list of deliverable
items and associated drawings:

The E/C-3 installation equipments shall be arranged to permit the initial
installation of the E/CS-3 system being established with the MP-10641
amplifiers, but will include necessary provision for field cut-over to
utilize replacement transistor amplifier units. The units shall be arranged
to incorporate the activity amplifiers and activity indicators to be
called for under phase C or this task (to be eetablished). This arrangement
will incorporate a third power suppAy MP-10406 and a third rack filter
to power the two activity amplifier units to be installed in each rack.

The L/05-3TS rack assemblies consist of a rack Which will accept an individual
recorder ;Aount, one filter/power supply unit. It will comp rise a rank, a
recorder mount and a filter/activity mounting panel. It shall be arranged
to accept the recorder mount and filter panel assembly as utilized in the
E/C3-3TD unit as well as beink so arranged as to permit the installation
of a..1 units as ranoved from E/C::-3TD mounting assemblies.
