1. A drift of the summnarized findings of the Committee, was read,
discussed, amended and approved.
2. After a consideration of the overall requirements of the IAC
for a common service exploitation of foreign documents, the Chairman
reported the capabilities of FDB to meet those requirements under
present authorized personnel allotments as follows:

1) Exploit available provincial newspapers.
2) Exploit Moscow newspapers for industrial, economic,
sociological and technological information*
3) Abstract all available scientific periodicals for
intelligence information.
4) Exploit all available non-scientific periodicals

5) Abstract all available current Soviet books of
intelligence value.
6) Perform limited exploitation of highest priority
Soviet books&
b. Satellite Countries (Finland to Bulgaria)
1) Exploit available newspapers to meet the expressed
needs of the IAC.
2) Exploit available periodicals to a limited degree.
3) Perform occasional exploitation of highest priority
books,
1) Exploitation of priority newspapers and periodicals
for intelligence requirements.
2) Occasional highest priority exploitation of books.
3) No exploitation of any publications of India,
Pakistan, Afghanistan or Africa except Egypt*

1) No exploitation of any publications.
3. The Committee deoided that the importance and necessity of a
permanent advisory committee on exploitation of foreign documents is
now apparent and that its final report will include a reooffimendation
for the establishment of such a body.
4. On vote, a sub-committee was appointed by the Chair to compose
the first draft of the Committee Report, which will be oonsidered at
the next meeting. The sub-committee: Mr. T. Nordbeok and Mr. T. A.,
Georgsvitoh.
6. The next meeting will be held at 1400, 25 July 1949 in Room
2C720, The Pentagon.
6. The meeting adjourned at 1530.
