W. Kroner and W. Volksen have sucoeeded in isolating
linoleic and linolenic acids from potato oil.
(Naturwiss, 1942). These acids are indispensable
for maximum biological aotivity-of pyridoxine (vita-
min B6). Since they cannot be synthesized in human
organism potato has a food value not previously
recognized.
