just before I made my TDY to Vietnam, we
sent Saigon a dispatch querying them to get a
re-action from the Station as to the value or
lack of value in the Orientation Bourse on Viet-
nam. The outgoing dispatch hasnow been answered
by an incoming..* both are attached. Please re-
view and make use of whatever evaluation, inform-
ation may have provided in terms of the next
Orientation Course and its sub4ect matter....

. The referenced dispatch macs routed to the Branches .
for coenents on the Orientation Course. The general reaction
is that. the course is very beneficial. There we" several
consents that sons of the presentations should he up-dated particularly the selective use of persons who have`Y, recent ly
returned from Saigon. Two specific suggestions are:
a. More time should be devoted to explaining the
operatic, al concepts; e.g., the CG Tee, their purposes, the
CT?s and their purposes and how CO produced intelligence in
used by the CO's and with what results.
b. More information regarding local living conditions
such an housing , aage ut, clothing, servants, etc.
