9. Miscellaneous
a. A meeting was held 25 October with representa-
25X1A5a1 tives of ., to review the "Ground-
ing Handbook for Small Radio Stations". OC-E presented
a list of suggested changes. It was decided that the
OC-E list would be reviewed by and 25X1A5a1
employed in preparing the final copy of the Handbook.
It was further agreed that questions regarding the
suggested changes would be resolved by telephone
coordination.

Group.
1. SG-70 Exciter - Field Failure Reports indicated there
was a serious problem involving switch 2S2 and associated
circuitry. Because of this, an operational hold was placed on
the units and a temporary fix was issued two weeks later. It
seems the problem was caused by previous modifications that
were made to compensate for a phase lock problem. Indications
are that the problem will be technically easy to solve; the
phase lock modifications are still valid but relocation of
components will be necessary. The real problem now, as in the
past, is to obtain timely manufacturer response.
2. SG-75A - The Coast Guard has accepted the SG-75 and
associate ates ATL-10 but are investigating a minor "spurious"
problem. Additionally, they are re-evaluating their choice of
the ten-channel remote option when they could have gotten the
full remote capability for a modest increase in price. Exact
final cost for a full remote system is not available but indica-
tions are that final price will greatly depend upon what the
"customer" wants in the area of feedback information capability.

4. AG-1 - A memorandum was written and sent to OL to
request voiding of the two contracts with - . OC-OS 25X1A5a1
is now in the process of re-evaluation of requirements and
acceptable substitutes.
25X1A5a1 5. SELCAL - delivered the Model 131
Decoder. All 25 units were accepted.
6. Model 131-3 Code Generator - A Procurement memorandum
has been written for a Moe 131-3 Code Generator, as a
solid state replacement for the CU-14. Upon evaluation and
acceptance of the preproduction model, twenty-four additional
units will be purchased.
25X1A6a 7. ISB Adapter - This unit was extensively tested at
25X1A5a1the factory and at It was found to be
acceptable and- has been notified to start production
on the remaining units.
8. HFL-1000 - A new model of coil L114 is currently
under test at 1&I. Simulated field tests with the old and
the new Gates coils plus the B&W coil will be conducted
during the next two weeks.
1. Engineering Publications - Maintenance Parts List
No. 88, Northern Radio Company Diversity Combiner, Type
234 Model 1 has been completed and forwarded to the field.
2. Drawings Completed - Approximately one hundred and
thirty o various sizes were completed and reproduced copies
were forwarded to the originator.
3. Reproduction
a. Xerox machine reproduced 10,000 copies.
b. Bruning 440 reproduced 750 sepias and opaque
copies.
