Project Status: Work Order No. 1 - RS-O9 S stem reviously designated Work 2 2 . The electronic sequencers control module which is used to regulate-the motor of the KE-8 was found to be under"designed. By changing the value of resistors in the module, acceptable performance was achieved. New modules are being fabricated. Components were being assembled on the PC cards prior to module potting. The remaining three RS-509 ELD packages are mechanically complete. As soon as the motor control modules are ready, the transmitter/keyer/sequences interconnecting wiring will be started. The projected delivery date for the three packages is 28 July 1966. It appears that the contractor has assigned a lower priority to the completion of this work than that which was originally estimated. Also, because of the overrun condition- that this work was previously in, there was an obvious attempt to reduce a portion of the work effort in certain areas of the program. The contractor was advised of the unacceptability of this approach and agreed to fabricate the three remaining RS-509's in a manner equivalent in appearance to the RS/L-509- Distribution: R&D Subject File OL/PD/PCB/CAS R&D Lab OC-OS ESB Monthly (3).
